Key Arts Committee
The Arts Committee was convened in October, 2009, as an ad hoc committee formed by the LSRT and Mr. Landeryou to explore ways to improve the arts program at Key. Our goal is to make a recommendation to Mr. Landeryou by mid-January, 2010. The committee was formed in response to the LSRT Parent Survey (spring '09), which revealed a need for improvement in our arts program.

Highlights
As of December, 2009, committee has
- met with Darrell Ayers, the Kennedy Center's Vice President for Education to hear about opportunities for partnership with the Kennedy Center
- met with Katherine Latterner, Director of Fillmore Arts, to give feedback following the Parent LSRT survey (spring '09) and to work on improving our relationship with Fillmore
- researched other comparable arts programs in local schools
- is currently working on a vision statement for arts
- will be hammering out recommendation in the next 2-3 meetings
